Carbon black in tires is a kind of rubber auxiliary and a form of paracrystalline carbon that has a high surface-area-to-volume ratio, albeit lower than that of activated carbon. It has high reinforcement property, small deformation, low calorification, good elasticity and flex stiffness characteristics.
