Descrição
Uganda Veterans Wind Power Initiative, is umbrella organization of Amateurs of wind power (people who do there own education and research) on wind power for local production of wind turbines for electricity targeting to improve the infrastructure of the Uganda rural population. and africa as whole,
UVWPI Mission
UVWPI is private sector/community based Initiative and participant in wind energy sector pursuing to unlock wind power potential in Uganda, development of marketable small scale wind energy technology that can lend itself to the creation of mini-grids and rural development and deployment of sustainable clean energy solutions by manufacturing, training academia on wind power, coordinating, demonstrating, realistic promotion influencing energy delivery policies, protect energy consumers, promoting private sector sustaining investment in wind energy technology services in Uganda
What UVWPI do
We do develop wind energy technology, by manufacturing purpose built wind turbines for electricity majorly used for lighting, running house hold appliances like televisions sets, radios, fridges, etc like we have locally built 3 purpose built wind turbines working and running, installed in Kyenjojo, in kamwenge village, bushenyi ishaka, and koome island.
We do estimate wind using beau fort scale the method uses recorded observation over a sustained period (based on the beau fort scale) shows how you can tell roughly, with out measuring equipment, what the speed of the wind is in meters per second at particular instant, this way we can be able to design wind turbine that can run, carry loads depending on the house holds KWH .
