John was primarily a consultant pattern grader for the shoe trade and utilised laser technology for cutting patterns in acrylic. In recent years he has branched out significantly into other laser cutting and engraving services for industry specialising in wood, acrylic and leather. However, Ruth saw a potential for producing high quality laser cut and engraved giftware specialising in leather and acrylic along with a quality gift online store. In October 2007, Dr. Jodie Nikel joined the company to help The Pink Monkey Company expand into an unusual & funky, yet quality and sophisticated online giftware store. We are a family run business who prides ourselves on our customer service and high production standards, something which our testimonials support.

Where possible, we source our materials for the manufacture of our own products from local or British Companies, in order to support our local and national economy and to reduce our carbon footprint.
