Sofinco started its beginning since the year 1980. (Formerly known as M/s.Southern Felt Industries M/s.Chennai Felt Mills Pvt Ltd. also). We have been manufacturing felt from raw fibres such as Pure Wool (or) modern synthetic fibres as ViscoseRayon, polyester, polypropylene, Nylon and other fibres.

In addition, products and components of the above Felt and Nonwoven as per the customer requirement are also fabricated at the same production plant.

Wool Felt is a natural non woven product probably the first fabric invented by the mankind. Natural wool or woollen blends are compressed mechanically by interlocking the fibres with the aid of heat moisture to form itself into a Felt. It does not need weaving, knitting or stitching process. The product thus compressed is popularly known as FELT.

Owing to the irreplaceable demand of Felt material, today more more new fibers have joined to integrate themselves into the art of making felt. Thus the age old traditional wool felt has been revolutionized by the introduction of modern synthetic fibres latest techniques to impart strength longivity to a Felt. In this process, the Felt is interlocked mechanically by means of Needle punching and Resinating.Chemical binders are also often used.This type of Felt is commercially known as "NONWOVEN FABRIC FELT"

Our products include Felt(from wool or synthetic fibers) in Rolls-Sheets-Wheels cut to size components like Felt washers and a million of Felt profile used by the industry, trade and the hobby sectors.

We stick our production to the SAE, DIN, BSI and ISI specifications. Our production line is reinforced with latest imported machinery and well qualified technicians.
