The name Skywave goes back to the 1980 era. Skywave started in Rockford, Illinois as a sole proprietorship in the small electronics industry. In April of 1994 Skywave filed for it's first corporation status. During the first four years, Skywave launched a manufacturing division in FM commercial radio station transmitters, VHF, UHF and Amateur radio antenna manufacturing, along with building and constructing repeater tower sites and maintaining the small electronics retail division. In 2002 Skywave started a new division into truck plaza small electronic stores. In this same year Skywave opened it's first Dart & Billiard store in Rockford, IL.
