Sesa Goa Limited is India's largest producer and exporter of iron ore in the private sector. For more than five decades, Sesa is engaged in the business of exploration, mining and processing of iron ore.Over the last two decades, Sesa has diversified into manufacturing of pig iron and metallurgical coke.Sesa Goa's Pig Iron business is managed through its Pig Iron Division erstwhile Sesa Industries Limited (SIL) which commenced operations in 1992 when Sesa introduced Low-Phosphorous Foundry grade Pig Iron in India for the first time. We are expanding our current pig iron production capacity of 250,000 tonnes per annum to 625,000 tonnes per annum post the current expansions. Our Metallurgical coke plant is strategically situated at Amona on the banks of the Mandovi River, which has 84 ovens with an annual production capacity of 280,000 tonnes per annum, approximately 65% of which is consumed by Sesa Goa for its Pig Iron production and the remainder is sold to customers located in India, Middle east South East Asia. We are expanding our Met-coke production capacity by another 280,000 tonnes per annum which will make our total Met-coke production capacity of 560,000 tonnes per annum post the current expansions.

We also sell by-products like GBFS, Pig Iron Skull bolders, Pig Iron Chips (+/- 3mm), Nut Coke (6-15 mm) Coke Breeze( 0-6mm).
