Scott R. Zeigen, M.D., (the medical director of Richboro Eye Care) is a board certified, Wills Eye Institute affiliated Ophthalmologist (Eye Physician and Surgeon). Unlike Optometrists, Ophthalmologists go to medical school first and do one full year of hospital internship, before even starting a three year ophthalmology residency. Dr. Zeigen did Internal Medicine training FIRST, a year as a clinical general practitioner, and then trained from 1985 to 1988 at Temple University Hospital, where he was the chief residenct during his senior year.
