Descrizione

Ruminal digestion kinetics can be generated for each of the principal components in a feed: DM, starch, fiber, fat and nitrogen. Our expertise is in the analysis of hay and fermented forages and grains plus animal feed additives.

Analytical procedures include ruminal in-situ and in-vitro incubations and illeal (ruminant and swine) in-vitro incubations with semi-purified enzymes, which measure rumen by-pass and the digestibility of rumen by-pass feed constituents.

In our Environmental Room, we measure changes during storage of temperature, pH, VFAs, and dry matter loss during anaerobic storage (silage in bags, jars or buckets). We measure aerobic stability by the Hoenig Method.

On our 240 acres we can conduct strip trial evaluations of corn, soybeans and alfalfa.
