Established in 2002, We are exporters of Natural Indigo products i.e. pure Indigo leaves, Indigo Leaf Powder, Indigo Blue Natural Dye Powder from Indigofera Tinctoria also known as Neeli (Sanskrit) Neela Amari (Malayalam).
Indigo (botanical name: "Indigofera Tinctoria") is a 100% pure herbal plant, which gives a deep blue color. Original high class Indigo, when used instantly, gives deep green color, but after 24 to 48 hours it changes becomes deep blue. The secret of judging the high class Indigo is from its deep blue color, and if it is not giving deepness then that means it is of low quality.
The history of this plant is very old. Earlier used for fabric dye and for medicinal purposes alone, but now the full scope of its uses and purposes is known. Indigo is an antiseptic can be used as a stimulant, purgative and astringent.
Indigo Leaf Powder i.e. Neela Amari Herbal Hair Dye is a natural product obtained from the dried leaves of "Indigofera Tinctoria" and does not contain any PPD. No fermentation is involved in Indigo hair dye. Green leaves are dried in the sun and stored in moisture-free packing. Dried leaves are finely pulverised prior to dispatch.
Even though Henna is a natural hair dye and does not contatin any PPD it gives deep orange color to the hair. Indigo hair dye gives deep blue color if used alone. And if used after Henna gives different shades of brown black color depending on the proportion of henna indigo hair dye, because, combination of blue orange ultimately results in Black Color. If used in different proportions Henna Indigo hair dye will give you different shades.
Indigofera Tinctoria or Neela Amari (Malayalam) is a seasonal crop, and we have our own fields of this plant. Hence, based on the customers requirements in advance, we plan our production and offer them good quality indigo dyes at best and uniform prices. Our dyes are available throughout the year, and we take periodical orders from most of our regular customers.
Production Process:
We produce eco-friendly Indigo Dye (natural), by extracting it from the plant "Indigofera Tinctoria". We have mastered this ancient craft after many years of practice. The process of manufacturing indigo dyes includes the following steps:
The fully grown plant is cut and soaked in tanks that is 14ft in length 14ft in breadth and has a depth of 2.5 ft.
After soaking the cut plant for about 18 hours, water is mixed with it, and it lies in there for some more time.
The colour is then strained and extracted along with the water, which is led into another tank of similar dimensions.
This extract is then oxidized by agitating the green water. This is a manual process, which continues for about an hour or more. The green leaf extract turns blue in color and thickens noticeably. This thick substance is transferred into a copper vessel and boiled at a high temperature for some time, before it is poured into moulds.
We use no other substance than Indigo leaves. This is a 100% natural dye, which is safe for skin. It is also observed that the dye serves in maintaining good physical and mental heath of the one who applies it. The natural blue colour is said to have a soothing effect once applied on the head.
These leaves are also used to prepare hair oil, which is again proven to give healthy hair and scalp.
