It’s an evolutionarily ancient plant that can be found in different continents. The leaves do not resist cold temperatures and the trunk sprouts when the heat comes. It can grow into very old specimens with 6–7 m height, but its growth is usually slow. The leaves are placed in the upper part of the trunk and branch out both at the base and in the centre of the plant.
