Opis
Paradise Ranch is one of only two Okanagan wineries producing only icewine and late harvest wine (Willow Hill Vineyards is the other). The venture was originally based on the picturesque Paradise Ranch vineyard, a dramatic lakefront property north of Naramata. Since Mission Hill bought the vineyard in 2002, Paradise Ranch's icewines have been made with purchased grapes. In 2008, Paradise Ranch, in a defensive move triggered by the Okanagan grape shortage, planted its own Naramata vineyard again. Beginning with the 2005 vintage, proprietor James Stewart moved production and storage to a Kelowna facility. In 2006, the winery also released a line of icewines under its new Whistler Icewine label. Because there is almost no vidal grown in B.C., but there is an international demand for the icewines, Paradise Ranch has an agreement with an Ontario winery to produce vidal icewine.
