I have always been a craft beer enthusiast…ask my friends. Well before great micro brews were available in Vancouver, I was on the road less travelled to Seattle and Portland in search of fine ales, stouts and lagers that I could not find at home.
Then of course there were the obligatory trips to London and Munich where the beer steeped in tradition was truly a way of life, shared and enjoyed by all.
I think we need more great beer in our own back yard.
Years ago, the legendary Railway Club was my springboard to dive into the world of craft beer by supporting the new local breweries that were in their developing stages. Through the years the ‘Railway’ became known for having one of the best tap beer selections in the city and proudly and enthusiastically touted ‘real beer’.
After 25 years of being an advocate for other people’s beer I woke up one day and realized I need to be brewing my own beer.
Since selling the Railway Club, I’ve spent the past 5 years acquiring hands on knowledge of hop farming and have gained over 3 years of brewing experience. Today, I am excited to announce that Off The Rail Brewing will soon be open to the public. We are a small brewery with high standards and a passion for beer. For me, it really is all about the commitment to great taste.
I am confident that you will enjoy the recipes I have crafted and look forward to sharing my love of beer with you.
