PET or PolyEthylene Terephthalate is lightweight but strong form of polyester. It is mainly used to make juice, water, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, edible oils bottles and food, non food and household containers/applications.
PET was first developed by British Calico Printers in 1941 for use in synthetic fibres. But it's use is not limited to fibres/textile industry. Being a polymer, PET's molecular structure consists of long chanis of repeating units of Carbon (C), Oxygen (O) and Hydrogen (H) elements.
