National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) established in 1953 is an enterprise under the Department of Scientific Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India to promote, develop and commercialize technologies / inventions / Patents / emanating from various national R D institutions. With its Headquarters in New Delhi, Branch Office in Bengaluru, the Corporation offers its services to improve the manufacturing base in the country with innovative technologies especially suitable for Indian entrepreneurs. The corporation has forged strong links with various R D organizations in India and abroad and also pursued its objective of bringing inventions to commercially viable ventures. Equipped with the vast number of technologies, the corporation is now recognized as a largest repository of wide range of technologies in Pharmaceuticals, bio-technology, Electrical, Metallurgy, Electronics and Instrumentations, Building Materials, Mechanical, Food, Agriculture, etc especially adaptable / suitable to Indian conditions. These technologies are sourced from the RD organizations like ICAR, ICMR, DRDO, CSIR, IITs, traditional universities, agricultural animal sciences universities, national Institutes under various ministries, etc. It has licensed the indigenous technologies to over 4000 entrepreneurs and helped to establish over two thousand small and medium scale industries. It has also been encouraging innovators and inventors in India by giving them tax-free cash awards. NRDC also provides consultancy for protection of intellectual property rights like patents, trademarks, design registrations, etc to RD organizations and industries.
