Megelles was established in 1995 and has been an exclusive bear making business based in Brisbane’s western suburbs since.

Now at Bellbowrie and from her home-based studio, Lisa has expanded the Megelles range to include patchwork and sewing supplies.

Lisa has been sewing all her life and can’t remember when she wasn’t making something. Lisa’s first attempt at bear making was in 1986 after completing a patchwork quilt-making course whilst she was based in Sydney. In 1990 she returned to Brisbane and discovered the delights of fur fabric. She is now one of Australia’s leading teddy bear artists.

Lisa designs and makes all the bears and their gorgeous outfits. She has also designed several quilts, bags, and other items most with a bear theme.

Lisa has taught bear making for over 20 years. Lisa first started teaching her friends from home and then regularly taught for many years both locally and interstate.

In 2011 the Megelles Studio opened and Lisa regularly holds Teddy Bear making and sewing classes. For more details please contact us.
