Description

In 15 August 1963, Malaysia Dairy Industries (MDI) was formed as a joint-venture with the Australia Dairy Produce Board (during this period, Singapore was part of the Federation of Malaysia, hence the adoption of the name Malaysia). It was the first plant in Singapore and Malaysia to produce sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk. Five years later, MDI became a local entity when Company bought over the Australian interest.

Since then, MDI has gone from strength to strength, expanding its product lines to include dairy products and other food items for the global market. Our steady progress can be attributed to our philosophy of investing in the latest technology, our dedicated workforce and continuous research and development of new products to satisfy an increasingly demanding consumer market.

In 1977, MDI introduced the first L. Acidophilus cultured milk Vitagen, first to Malaysia and then Singapore. Its popularity opened up a new market of cultured milk products in South-East Asia. To cater to today's health-conscious populace, our RD expertise developed one of our latest products - the HL Low Fat Milk - again with resounding success. Our aggressive marketing efforts have succeeded in positioning our products as daily essentials.

Our success story is never-ending. With over 45 years of experience, we will continue to expand and develop new products to ensure that MDI products remain household favourites in Singapore and the rest of the world.
