Peat is one of the most important organic fertilizer, which has its own mineral foundation. Lowland peat (black peat) is more fertile than another types of peat because it contains more nutrients and trace elements. Peat is used to enhance the fertility of poor soil, in order to ensure consistence of sandy soils or to loosen clay soils. This type of peat is an environmentally friendly product, it is very popular among gardeners, 70% of soil mixtures for lawns is a peat. Adding peat to the soil, it creates a favorable water-air climate, replenishing stocks of organic matter. Also lowland peat used for the preparation of peat mixtures (substrates) for growing mushrooms, plants, seedlings and other crops.
