We are an Independent practice and it is something we value, as it gives us the flexibility to respond to your needs. In larger organisations, the people providing the service are not responsible for how it is provided. We have the flexibility to respond to your particular requirements. For example when selecting frames we are not restricted to particular suppliers. Therefore we can obtain virtually any type of frame available. This can be very useful if you have a particular style of frame in mind. As part of the examination we are able to perform advanced tests using the latest equipment as it becomes available. For example, digital imaging which records an image of the back of your eye. Our Practice is a member of Sight Care, an Organisation of Independent Practitioners dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of Professional Care.

An eye examination is not merely to detect and correct vision defects. The true value of the regular eye examination is the early detection of conditions such as, Glaucoma, Cataract, Hypertension, Diabetes and other disorders. If these are caught early enough, they can be treated and controlled, thus preventing a threat to vision. At Jarvis Optometrist, where possible we use the latest technology as part of an examination. For expample, we have recently installed a digital imaging equipment that records an image of the back of the eye. This has proved vital in the early detection of conditions and for the accurate measurement of changes to the eyes over time.

We refer our patients to Optimax who are the UK's leading providers of Laser Eye Treatment.

As a registered co-management practice we are able to offer skilled pre and post-operative care. This gives you continuity of care and reduced travel to the nearest Optimax clinic in Glasgow or Aberdeen.

If you would like to discuss this further and arrange a laser eye surgery consultation then please either telephone on (01382) 462236 or use our Book an Appointment form.
