Having suffered a stroke in 1999. I was going to die. I turned my face to the wall and humbly made this request: "Father God, take me home or maked me well." God healed me so completely that even my doctor had to confess: " You Arvis, are a walking maricle!" To glorify the One who made this all possible, to testify to the world ,and using the English Minor is had in college, I began to write. My daughter, who was nine when I began writing, expressed it best with a poem she wrote after reading the manuscript of my first novelt: "Full of adventure and places to go went I wanted peace of mind. I felt more at home there than anywhere else! It had the smell of welcome; the aroma of comfort and you always had an open invitation to stay. That's how I remember SOUTH FOURTH STREET."
