A Different Man follows Edward (Sebastian Stan), an aspiring actor who has trouble remembering lines and suffers from Neurofibromatosis, a condition in which tumors grow in the body's nervous system. They are not malignant but often affect the skin, in his case covering his entire face, making him an introvert and socially awkward person, especially as he is stared at on TV.
