Harvest Notes

Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot normally ripens late into the growing season. The 2011 vintage was no different with all the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot being harvested from late October into November. Picking was completed under cool temperatures. The majority of the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for this blend was harvested from our vineyard at Blasted Church and from our contract grower vineyards in the hot climate regions of Osoyoos. A small percentage of the blend (5.5%) is Malbec from Osoyoos which lifts the fruit characters in the wine. The rich tannin structure of the wine was a result of the warm growing season.
