Harvest Notes

The 2013 Gewurztraminer was harvested from our Blasted Church estate vineyards and from contracted vineyards in Oliver. The 2013 grape clusters were found to be small and plentiful with intense flavours when sampled from the vineyards prior to picking. Harvest was earlier than normal; we began picking the Gewurztraminer in late September.

Winemaking

Each vineyard was vinted separately and each vineyard lent its own individual characteristics to the wine. Skin contact for 12 -24 hours was incorporated to achieve maximum flavours in the wine. Long cold fermentation temperatures retained the fruit aromas and flavours in the finished wine.
