Apraksts

Black Tusk’s geophysicists have extensive experience both developing algorithms for and interpreting many different types of geophysical sensor data including magnetometers, Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) sensors and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).

Our core application area is the remediation of land contaminated by Unexploded Ordnances (UXO), which are also referred to as Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) or Explosive Remnants of War (ERW). We are expert at using geophysical sensor data to classify detected items as either hazardous UXO or non-hazardous shrapnel, munitions scrap or cultural debris. This process works best when a specialist confirmation sensor is deployed in a cued mode over items detected in an initial Digital Geophysical Mapping (DGM) survey. It is sometimes possible to achieve some degree of classification using DGM data, and our geophysicists can conduct a Feasibility Study to determine the best approach for remediation at a given site.

Effective Quality Control (QC) is an essential component of safe, reliable and cost effective remediation of UXO contaminated sites and we provide a top-class QC service. We offer training and expert tuition in any aspect of data collection, processing, interpretation and Quality Control.
