Ballet Chicago's mission is to develop future career classical dancers for Chicago and the dance world at large through the study and performance of the aesthetic and repertory of George Balanchine, the 20th century's most influential and widely performed choreographer. The training at the School of Ballet Chicago focuses on the musicality, energy, and articulation that are the hallmark of Balanchine-trained dancers. It is in this tradition that the School of Ballet Chicago prepares its students for professional careers. Students are taught in a nurturing environment that fosters confidence and individual achievement as well as artistry and technique.
