Walter Craven started arranging funerals in the early nineteen twenties from premises at No.2 Broadgreen Road in Old Swan, Liverpool. He had been brought up in St. Helens but moved to Liverpool in the Great War.

The early fifties saw the acquisition of Craven Lodge in Broadgreen Road, then an elegant old house, since replaced by our modern purpose built premises.

The present Chairman, Derek Craven, joined the firm in 1963, since which time the company has been fortunate to become associated with Charlett's, Leadbetter & Murphy, Moar & Butler and Maddock & Sons Funeral Services along with funeral homes at Liverpool Road, Huyton and Lugsmore Lane, St. Helens. His son, Charles, joined the company in 1993 and became a Director in 1999.
