We opened our first Terra Breads bakery café on West 4th Avenue in the Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver in 1993. Terra Breads is known as one of Vancouver’s first artisan bakeries, and our commitment to community and authentic artisan baking continues to remain the strong foundation on which our values are built.

At Terra Breads, “artisan” is the place where food and story meet. We are inspired by a vision to create authentic artisan breads and pastries – using traditional methods developed over thousands of years – and to share these breads with the people of Vancouver. We set out to create new flavours unique to Terra Breads that reflect the West Coast community and way of life.

For over 20 years, Terra Breads has stayed true to our original vision. We mix quality ingredients—many of them organic—with natural starters in a long, slow artisan process. After rising, the breads are baked in stone-hearth ovens. As we grow, we continue to bake using the same slow-rise traditional artisan methods.

Today, we have four bakery and cafe locations in Vancouver, BC, Canada. You’ll also find Terra Breads artisan breads, granola and crisps in leading food markets, grocery and specialty stores around Vancouver.
