Established in 1969 as an industrial gear distributor and service centre, the company has operated for four decades under private ownership. The current ownership purchased the company in 1987 and has managed the growth to its current size. PREP's ISO 9001 registered operating facility is in Surrey, a suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia.

From our roots providing parts and service for industrial transmissions PREP has expanded its capabilities to include world class power transmission engineering product development, expertise in packaging mechanical equipment, and fully integrated systems including electrical and controls.

PREP provides engineered solutions for critical applications across a range of industries including gas compression, land and offshore oil drilling, industrial refrigeration, materials handling, and various marine applications. We work directly with our clients to design and engineer purpose built products tailored to meet their specific performance requirements, utilizing the best engineering practices.

PREP does more than engineer and manufacture a premium product. We provide parts and service for products we sell as a manufacturer, with trained technicians available to provide skilled services in our service center or around the world. Our technical staff is experienced in troubleshooting, failure analysis, upgrade/repair consultation, and torsional vibration analysis.
