Hanwha

Hanwha Group is a leading South Korean industrial conglomerate. The

Company operates through three segments.Manufacturing and Construction,

Finance, and Services and Leisure.

The Company competes in the world cast polymer market via the

Hanwha Living Creative Corporation subsidiary (Hanwha LC -- South Korea), a manufacturer of surfacing and other materials for interior decorating

end uses that operates within the $10.8 billion Manufacturing and Construction

segment. The company generated sales of $920 million and employed 1,455 in

2008.

Products

Among Hanwha LC surfacing materials are HANEX and

BRIONNE acrylic-based solid surface materials, and HANSTONE engineered

quartz. Typically, these materials are used in the fabrication of kitchen and

bathroom countertops and vanity tops, kitchen islands, work stations, shelves,

bar tops, tabletops and other surfaces for residential and commercial

applications.

Hanwha LC produces HANEX solid surface materials through a highheat,

high-pressure process that blends methyl methacrylate and polymethyl

methacrylate resins filled with alumina trihydrate and other materials. HANEX

solid surface materials are employed in the fabrication of surfaces designed to

resist stains, scratches, impacts, household chemicals and biological growth.

BRIONNE solid surface materials are composed of acrylic resins and pearl

chips, creating a surfacing material with a high degree of gloss and luster. This

material forms durable, seamless, nonporous surfaces designed to provide

resistance to scratches, biological contaminants, stains and high temperatures.

Typically, the company BRIONNE solid surface materials are employed in

high-end applications, including surfaces for residential kitchens and

bathrooms, corporate headquarters, and other areas requiring a rich, upscale

appearance.

HANSTONE engineered quartz from Hanwha LC is made through the

BRETONSTONE (Breton SpA -- Italy) process that blends natural quartz,

resins, silica and colorants. This process forms high-gloss, durable, nonporous

surfaces that are resistant to stains, heat, impacts, scratches and biological

growths.
