The Car Hoods market grew like no other and BAS invested heavily in all the latest high tech machinery, this machinery enabled BAS to leap frog its competitors and become No.1 in the replacement Cabriolet hood market.

Today BAS continue their relentless push forward, still investing in the latest most up to date machinery in order to continue to produce the most original aftermarket hoods available in the world.

BAS International was founded in 1976 by a Jaguar car enthusiast. Unlike today, classic Jaguar parts were not readily available, which was a problem for an enthusiast restoring a car. BAS saw an opportunity to re-manufacture parts for these older cars and decided to specialise on the interior. Business grew quickly, BAS was now exporting its product all over the world, the U.S.A market was by far the largest and BAS realised that it needed to have a manufacturing base on that continent as well, and in 1989 the Vancouver office was born. Re-manufacturing interiors to the original specification means using original materials, where these were not available, BAS re-manufactured the materials as well. BAS re-produced the original carpet that went into classic Jaguars, this evolved purchasing a loom and a PVC coating plant, which in turn has lead BAS producing carpet and many other product for the Auto industry and other non-auto related businesses.
