BRIEF HISTORY

ARMAX GAZ is one of the national leaders in manufacturing equipment and instruments, metallic confections, spare parts, repairs and service provides for the gas and oil field, having an experience of more than 85 years.

The company was established in 1925 under the label of Sonametan-Medias. After almost a quarter of a century, in 1948, the company changes its name to Partizanii Pacii and in 1958 it becomes Atelierele Centrale pentru Gaz Metan. Beginning with the year 1969, the company was a constitutive part of Centrala Gazului Metan Medias under the name Uzina Mecanica pentru Gaz Metan.

In 1978 the company starts its activity in a new headquarter in Aurel Vlaicu street no. 35A, performing until present in this office. Beginning with 1983, the company was provided as corporate body and was called Intreprinderea Mecanica pentru Gaz Metan, being subordinated to the Centrala Gazului Metan-Medias and to the Oil Ministry.

The position of our city Medias - a city called The Capital of Natural Gas - within a wealthy region in natural gas, had a very good influence in the development of this company. In 1991 the company is transformed in a joint stock company called Armax Gaz. Since April 2000 the company is totally private owned and the major shareholder is Mr. Mircea Vescan, in present sole administrator and general director of the company. As of that moment, the company achieved significant performances, obtaining the position of national leader in equipment and instruments manufacturing for natural gas and oil industry.

Our range of products are designed and manufactured according to European Norms requirements and regulations in the field, provided with the European Union directives. We have specialized personnel and necessary certifications for design and manufacture of the products and installations, unfold assembly works, commissioning and equipment maintenance related to natural gas production, transport and distribution.

Beginning with 2004, the company started complex jobs for execution and commissioning, meaning turn-key works of some important goals within natural gas field such as natural gas dehydration stations, gas separating-regulating-metering stations, natural gas up-heating installations above ground.
